For my boyfriend and I’s one year anniversary we went to Tennessee. We stayed at a cabin in the woods and we brought along the game to play. That night, we got in the hot tub together and played a couple rounds of the game. We would answer one question in like 20 min because we realized there was still so much we didn’t know about each other. I picked up a card and it read, “when was the moment you knew you were in love with me?” And I remember giggling inside because I would’ve never thought to ask this question, let alone answer it. I approached her in the gym. I'd never seen her before. She was so beautiful, even though she wasn't my type. I kept glancing in her direction wondering if I should talk to her. She was two feet away from me working out at the machine next to me. So I approached her saying I've never seen her before. I asked about what she does, her gym goals, and eventually asked if I could finish my workout with her. While working out I kept talking to her. We conversed over various topics, and I could tell she was nervous but liked it. Sometimes I'd let the silence linger, just so she could sit in it with me. Eventually I asked for her Instagram before leaving. The next day I planned a dinner date at a nice restaurant. For the next month we got to know each other, breaking past the little barriers of trust, and eventually of love. Two wounded hards colliding into a healing love. Eventually I found out I was leaving. I was moving 400 miles away to a new town. We weren't together at this point, only known each other for about a month. I accidentally said I loved her in the gym after 2 weeks of knowing her. It just came out naturally, but she said it back with a smile. A few nights before moving I brought this game with me to dinner. It was a fancy restaurant in a booth 3 stories high with a view of the sunset right in front of our face. I pulled out this game, nervous because I knew it was four couples.. We weren't a couple. This would be the day I either ask her or I don't. I pulled a question from the box that said "what was your biggest concern before getting together?" Welp.. I guess now we have to have the talk. After an hour of open heart communication I asked her to be mine. We were done with dinner, I got up to start leaving when I saw the wildcard at the bottom of the deck. I dropped it in her lap as I stood up, picking up my things. She turned the card over, smiled, and excitedly said "I love you."
